Guide to adding, editing, and removing users from the account

This guide covers the steps to add, edit, and remove users in Dwelling Blocks, including setting user roles, managing permissions, and configuring assignment availability.


Adding a New User

  1. Inviting a User:

    • Navigate to the Users page.
    • Click the Invite User button in the top-right corner to begin the setup.
  2. Setting Assignment Availability:

    • When inviting a new user, you’ll see an option to Mark as Available for Assignments.
    • Leave this checkbox checked if the user is a vendor who will complete assignments. If the user is in an administrative role or an assistant role (e.g., managing tasks but not completing assignments), you can uncheck this box to prevent their name from appearing on lenders' lists of available assignees.
  3. Selecting a User Role:

    • Choose a role from the dropdown menu to assign permissions to the new user.
    • Vendor: Best for users handling assignments directly.
    • Administrator: Grants full access to manage the account.
    • If a user requires both administrator privileges and assignment availability (such as a business owner who completes assignments), they can be set up as an administrator with the assignment check box checked.
    • *IMPORTANT* If you have added a user available for assignments, each new user must be assigned Order/Report Types and be added to your approved Lenders list manually.  Report Types and Lender Availability are NOT automatically turned on when adding a new user and must be manually added from the Vendor's profile. They will not be able to be assigned orders until this is complete
  4. Creating Custom Roles:

    • To create roles with tailored permissions, go to Company Settings > Roles & Permissions. Custom roles allow flexibility for different responsibilities across your team.

      User roles can be updated anytime through the user’s profile.

Editing an Existing User

  1. Accessing and Editing Profile Information:

    • Open the User Profile page for the user you wish to edit.
    • To modify information, hover over the specific section and click the edit icon that appears.
  2. Configuring Order Sources and Report Types:

    • Navigate to the Order Sources tab in the user’s profile to view connected lenders and report types.
    • Use the toggles to enable or disable the user’s availability for each order type.
    • To set or update the fee for a specific order type, click the three dots on the right side of the row, then select Report Fee.
    • If there are multiple pages of order types, use the search bar or page navigation at the bottom to find specific entries.

Removing a User

  1. Removing a User:
    • Go to the User Profile page for the user you want to remove.
    • Click on the three dots in the top-right corner and select Remove.

By following these steps, you can efficiently manage user roles, permissions, and assignment settings in Dwelling Blocks, ensuring each team member has the appropriate access and availability based on their role.
